When little Jonah saw the castle from the hotel, he was on a mission. A mission to get to one of the most amazing things he had ever seen. "We go to castle now." We turned to see the little man was off plodding up the hill.
He saw a hang glider around Tegelberg.
Then Jonah saw the door into the castle, that was it.....he was desperate to go inside even though the last tour had gone through.
This is what you see when you walk in.
This is a view from the castle over to the suspension bridge called Marienbrücke. It was named for King Ludwig's mother Marie, a Prussian Princess.
The waterfall you see below the bridge is in what is known as the Pöllat Gorge.
We finally got Jo to agree to go to eat with us down in Hohenschwangau at Hotel Müller

This hotel is twice the price as the one we stayed at but it is amazing. If you have unlimited finances this is a wonderful place to stay. We opted for just a meal!
The staff was friendly and seated us at a lovely table.
This is a hand carved statue in the restaurant.

Lovely touches....right down to the plates. Jonah loved the castle on his plate and wanted to show it off to you all.
Our waiter Ralph learned his excellent English while he was in the army in Canada.
He was wonderful and took exceptional care of our little group.
You just have to see the view from the table. Yes, that's right. We got to look up at the castle while we had our feast.
Three of us could not pass up the venison. It was wonderful.
Mac decided on the beef filets. He claims it was awesome.
We were all so full that we knew we couldn't manage to each have a dessert, but we did think if we asked for one dessert with 5 spoons, we could give it a try.
We took one last look out the window at our inspiring castle view before we headed back up the hill to our little hotel under Neuschwanstein.
What a wonderful day!
